Food for Fines at the Sylvan Lake Library

 Food for Fines at the Sylvan Lake Library

For the entire month of November, Sylvan Lake Library patrons brought in donations for our food drive and had overdue charges waived for participating.

Our food drive benefiting the local food bank was open to anyone, even if that someone didn't have overdue books. For those with late materials however, it was a golden opportunity to take a bite out of library overdue charges and help someone else at the same time.

The library waived $2.00 in fines for each non-perishable food item donated. This year we waived $276 in late fees. Thanks to everyone who participated.

Poetry Month 2014 Tammy's Poem

Do you Carrot All for Me?

Do you carrot all for me?
My heart beets for you,
With your turnip nose
And your radish face,
You are a peach.
If we cantaloupe,
Lettuce marry;
Weed make a swell pear.
