Sylvan Lake Film Society Presents...

Edwin Boyd

Directed by Nathan Morlando, this is a fascinating portrait of the notorious WWII veteran and family man turned Toronto gangster and bank robber. Returning to Canada after being discharged from the army, Edwin Boyd (Scott Speedman, Underworld; Underworld Evolution) turned to crime in a bid to provide for his family. Unable to find legitimate employment, Boyd cut his teeth in the crime world by robbing a New York branch of the Bank of Montreal. He continued pulling bank heists over the next few years with his newly formed “Boyd” gang causing the largest manhunt in Canadian history.

Nominated for four Genie Award’s including best actor for Scott Speedman, this is a must see for any Canadian history buff, gangster movie fan and lovers of great stories that only get better when they are based on truth!

Where: Landmark Cinema Sylvan Lake
            9 Beju Industrial Drive
When: Monday, April 30
